APC Sokoto Chairman Commends Wamakko, Endorses Gov Aliyu’s Leadership

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Achida, has commended Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC–Sokoto) for his role in ensuring unity and stability in the party across the state.

Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Sokoto, Achida described Wamakko as the pillar of APC in the state and a notable stakeholder in northern Nigeria.

“Wamakko is not just a political leader; he is a humanitarian and a father figure to millions. He doesn’t hoard wealth, he gives generously, and his doors are always open. He is everything a true leader represents,” Achida said.

He noted that Governor Ahmed Aliyu owed much of his success to Wamakko’s mentorship and political structure, which, he added, had entrenched APC’s dominance in the state.

According to him, the Sokoto APC has passed a vote of confidence in Gov. Aliyu, citing his bold leadership, prudent financial management, and people-centred policies.

“Aliyu is a worthy ambassador of the APC who, in less than two years, has achieved what his predecessor couldn’t accomplish in eight years,” Achida said.

He disclosed that the party was considering adopting the governor as its sole candidate for the 2027 election, stressing that “while APC remains democratic and open to contest, no aspirant can match Aliyu’s track record. His work speaks for itself.”
