Mr Musa Mailafiya-Mada,
APC Zonal Publicity Secretary, Northwest, issued the directive on Monday in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna.
Mailafiya-Mada said the move was in line with the decision of the National Headquarters, as conveyed by the APC National Vice Chairman, Northwest, Mr Garba Mohammed Datti.
He said: “The closure of the zonal secretariat, starting from Monday, July 14, is to mourn the departure of the immediate past president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, from this celestial real to the great beyond.
“The northwest zonal secretariat will resume active operation on Thursday, July 17. Garba Datti further directed states under the geopolitical zone to also follow suit in honor of the late patriotic leader, who hailed from the zone.
“While at it, the zonal chairman urged party leaders, faithful and the general public from the zone and the country in general to use this period of national mourning for reflection.
“We should also use it for intensive prayers for the repose of the soul of our late leader and for restoration of peace in the region and the nation at large”. (NAN)
