An Air India flight originating from Phuket, Thailand, bound for New Delhi, was forced to execute an emergency landing on Friday shortly after take-off due to a bomb threat detected on board, as reported by the Thai Airports Authority.
This event follows a tragic incident just a day prior, where a London-bound Air India jet crashed in Ahmedabad, India, claiming the lives of at least 265 passengers and individuals on the ground.
According to a post on their Facebook page, Airports of Thailand revealed that the pilot of the Airbus A320 had communicated with air traffic control, reporting that a bomb threat message had been located within the aircraft.
Flight tracking platform FlightRadar24 showed that the flight from Phuket made a U-turn over the Andaman Sea shortly after take-off, circling multiple times off the coast of the island before landing safely.
