Air Chief Aneke Urges Commanders To ‘Fly Smarter, Strike Harder’ Against Insurgents

Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has charged Air Component Commanders to intensify precision air operations and adopt smarter tactics in the ongoing fight against insurgency, terrorism and banditry.

Speaking during a meeting with commanders from all operational theatres in Abuja on Wednesday, Aneke said the nation’s security landscape demanded swift, intelligence-driven and well-coordinated responses.

“We must fly smarter and strike harder — not only to neutralise threats but to safeguard lives and property. Every mission must demonstrate professionalism and patriotism,” he stated.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, the Air Chief also called for greater inter-service cooperation, stressing that synchronised air, land and maritime missions were key to operational success.

Aneke assured personnel of improved welfare, continuous training and technological upgrades to strengthen the Air Force’s operational capabilities.

He urged commanders to translate strategic plans into decisive actions and maintain operational tempo to ensure every mission delivers concrete results.

The meeting, attended by commanders from across the country, reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at restoring peace and security.
