Mr Ahmed Sanusi has assumed office as the 35th Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following the promotion of his predecessor, Mr Miller Dantawaye, to Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said Sanusi is a highly experienced officer, having been enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent in May 2000. He began his career at the Niger Police Command after completing his training in 2001.
Before his new role, Sanusi served as Commander of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT). Adeh described him as a seasoned officer with decades of meritorious service and extensive professional expertise.
Born on May 20, 1972, in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Sanusi is a devout Muslim, happily married, and a father. He has pledged to enhance security measures and foster stronger community-police relationships across the FCT.
The FCT Police urged residents to continue supporting the force in maintaining law and order throughout the territory.
