The 9th edition of the Africa Women Conference (AWC) will be held from 19th to 21st November 2025 in Accra, Ghana, bringing together influential women leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and advocates from across the continent.
AWC Convener, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, disclosed this to journalists in Abuja, noting that this year’s event will be co-hosted by Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei, Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund (MDF), Ghana, and National Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She said the 2025 conference, themed “Legacy Meets Innovation: Women Forming New Pathways for Africa’s Sustainable Development,” will explore how women are shaping Africa’s growth through creativity, leadership, and innovation.
According to Dr. Ahmadu, the AWC—jointly convened by the Helpline Social Support Initiative (Nigeria) and Save Humanity Africa International (USA)—has, over the years, evolved into a premier continental platform for dialogue, policy exchange, and partnership-building among African women and their counterparts in the diaspora.
She added that the appointment of Dr. Bisiw-Kotei as co-host reflects AWC’s commitment to celebrating visionary African women whose leadership continues to redefine governance, community empowerment, and social innovation.
“Dr. Bisiw-Kotei’s passion for inclusive development, gender equity, and youth empowerment aligns strongly with AWC’s mission of amplifying women’s voices and strengthening their participation in leadership and decision-making,” she said.
Dr. Ahmadu also noted that Ghana’s growing influence as a hub for African women’s leadership and transformation made it an ideal host for the 2025 edition.
The conference will feature dynamic plenary sessions, exhibitions, and the Africa Women in Leadership Awards Gala, with a focus on innovation, economic empowerment, digital inclusion, and sustainable growth.
Delegates expected at the event include First Ladies, Ministers, Parliamentarians, CEOs, development partners, and grassroots women leaders from more than 25 African countries.
