Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State will on Wednesday present the 2026 draft budget estimates before the State House of Assembly in Osogbo.
The Speaker, Mr. Adewale Egbedun, disclosed this during Tuesday’s plenary session, noting that the governor had formally communicated his intention to lay the budget before lawmakers.
Egbedun said Adeleke’s letter indicated that all preparations and approvals on the draft budget had been concluded by the State Executive Council.
“I am pleased to inform Mr Speaker and the distinguished members of the Osun State House of Assembly of my intention to lay the 2026 Draft Estimates of the State before the House on Wednesday, Nov. 12, having concluded its preparation and approved by the State Executive Council,” the governor’s letter partly read.
According to him, the move complies with fiscal regulations requiring the presentation of draft estimates to the legislature before the end of the preceding year.
Meanwhile, the Assembly also passed the Osun State Research Integration and Innovation Implementation Bill, 2025, for first reading.
