The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has voiced concern over growing divisions within its Adamawa State leadership and called for reconciliation among party members.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, urged stakeholders to put aside their differences and prioritise unity for the stability of the party.
Abdullahi recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC), at its meeting on 8 October, approved the establishment of interim executive committees to temporarily oversee party affairs across all states.
He said that, following a review, the committee affirmed the 25 October process supervised by the National Vice Chairman (North East), which produced Barrister Sadiq Dasin as interim chairman, was consistent with the NWC’s directives.
The ADC spokesperson appealed to members involved in separate leadership arrangements to reconsider their stance and embrace reconciliation, while urging the new interim chairman to focus on healing divisions and addressing genuine grievances.
Abdullahi reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fairness, justice and internal democracy but cautioned against acts of indiscipline capable of derailing the reconciliation process.
