The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has congratulated the Super Eagles on what he described as a well-deserved victory at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mark said the achievement remained a proud moment for Nigeria and Nigerians, noting that the team’s success had once again showcased the country’s rich football heritage.
His message was conveyed in a statement issued on Sunday in Kano by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Paul Mumed.
The former Senate President praised the players for their resilience, discipline and patriotic spirit, which he said reflected the true Nigerian character on the continental stage.
“The Super Eagles have once again lifted the spirit of our nation and reminded the world of Nigeria’s football heritage,” Mark said.
He described the team’s performance throughout the tournament as inspiring and courageous, adding that it demonstrated the qualities of true champions.
Mark also commended the technical crew and the Nigeria Football Federation for their professionalism and dedication, noting that the victory had united Nigerians across ethnic, religious and political divides.
According to him, the success of the Super Eagles was a powerful reminder of what the country could achieve when unity, commitment and excellence were prioritised.
He urged the team to sustain the winning momentum and assured them of the continued support of Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
