The Adamawa Progressive Elders’ Council (APEC) has declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, pledging continued loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsement was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Yola by Ahmad Sajoh, Chairman of the council’s Media and Publicity Committee.
Sajoh said the resolution was unanimously adopted at a meeting of the forum held on 17 January, where members reaffirmed their commitment to the unity, stability and progress of the APC in Adamawa State.
He described APEC as an APC support group formed in line with recommendations of the party’s Reconciliation Committee and endorsed by the party leadership in the state.
According to him, the council was established to foster peace, reconciliation and collective strength within the party, with the specific mandate of building a formidable APC structure ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
Sajoh said the council, made up of prominent APC members from the state’s 21 local government areas, endorsed Tinubu’s second-term bid in recognition of his bold leadership, reform-driven policies and dedication to national development.
He also praised the President for appointing the party’s leader in Adamawa to what he described as a highly strategic position in government, as well as for extending federal appointments to other indigenes of the state.
“As a demonstration of appreciation, the council resolved to organise a grand rally and reception in honour of all political appointees, in recognition of the President’s goodwill towards Adamawa State,” Sajoh said.
He added that the council would expand its activities to the grassroots by engaging at local government and ward levels to strengthen party cohesion, detect disputes early and prevent internal conflicts.
Sajoh concluded by expressing gratitude to members and supporters who contributed towards the success of the meeting, commending their commitment to the ideals of the APC.
