Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has urged investors to seize economic opportunities in Abuja to drive sustainable growth, innovation and development.
Speaking at the 2025 Abuja Business and Investment Summit in the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre on Wednesday—represented by FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud—Wike said the current administration is determined to transform Abuja into a hub of sustainable progress for Nigeria and Africa.
He highlighted the significance of the summit’s theme, “Empowering Sustainable Growth: Unlocking Potentials in Emerging Markets,” noting its alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, focused on job creation, infrastructure development and inclusive economic policies.
“Infrastructure is the backbone of industrialisation. We are expanding road networks to connect satellite towns, rural areas and area councils to the city centre to create better access and stimulate economic activity,” Wike stated.
He assured investors that Abuja is being positioned as a secure and business-friendly city that fosters innovation and economic opportunity.
The minister commended the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) for organising the summit, which he described as instrumental in building public-private partnerships and showcasing the investment potential of the FCT.
According to him, the FCT Administration welcomes new ideas and collaborative solutions that will position Abuja competitively on the continental and global stage.
AICL’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Maureen Tamuno, said the summit reinforces investor confidence and supports the Renewed Hope Agenda. She noted that the event brings together investors, innovators, policymakers and development partners from countries including South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada and Botswana.
Tamuno said the 2025 edition includes a youth day and women’s day to promote inclusion, connect young innovators to capital and ensure equitable participation in economic growth.
