Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has joined the nation in mourning the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, whom she described as a courageous, principled leader deeply committed to the welfare of his people.
In a condolence message shared on Sunday, following the announcement of Buhari’s passing at the age of 82 in the United Kingdom, Senator Tinubu praised the former leader’s enduring legacy of integrity and national service.
“President Buhari served Nigeria with unwavering commitment, integrity, and a deep love for his people,” she said. “He was a man of immense courage, conviction, and a tireless advocate for justice and good governance.”
Reflecting on his tenure, Senator Tinubu highlighted Buhari’s steadfast dedication to the common good and his belief in the boundless potential of every Nigerian, noting that these values will continue to guide and inspire the nation.
The First Lady extended her deepest sympathies to the grieving family, in particular Buhari’s widow, Hajia Aisha Buhari, and their children and grandchildren.
“May you find solace in the outpouring of love and support from a grateful nation. Please know that your grief is shared by all of us,” she expressed.
Concluding her tribute, Senator Tinubu offered prayers, asking Almighty Allah to grant Buhari Aljanah Firdaus and to bring comfort to his family and the millions of Nigerians who mourn his passing.
