In a tragic event, a 43-year-old man named Kazeem took a fatal leap into a domestic well in Ilorin, Kwara State, after abusing a substance.
According to Hassan Adekunle, spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, the incident unfolded last Friday in the Ile Alapo vicinity. The fire service received a distress call at around 10:29 AM, indicating that a man had fallen into a well.
Adekunle reported, “Firefighters were quickly dispatched to the location and successfully recovered the body from the well.”
Reports suggest that Kazeem jumped into the well while under the influence of a potent substance known as Colo (Colorado), shortly after returning from Eid prayers.
The body was handed over to Inspector Babatunde Amos of the C Division Police Station in Ilorin. The ministry is now awaiting formal identification and collection of the body by the victim’s family.
Adekunle cautioned residents against drug abuse, warning that such actions can lead to tragic outcomes.
