Sokoto ADC Celebrates Dasuki’s Emergence As Deputy Minority Leader

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State has congratulated Abdussamad Dasuki, member representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, on his emergence as Deputy Minority Leader of the House.

The ADC Chairman in Sokoto, Abdullahi Maigwandu, described Dasuki’s emergence as a testament to his commitment, dedication, and contributions toward strengthening opposition unity and democratic governance in Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Maigwandu spoke on Tuesday in Sokoto while receiving a delegation from Tambuwal and Kebbe Local Government Areas at the party’s secretariat.

According to him, Dasuki has remained a worthy ambassador of Sokoto State, consistently placing the interests of the people above personal considerations.

“Dasuki remains one of the aspirants who sacrificed personal ambition for the unity and success of the ADC in Sokoto a state.

“We are proud of his achievement. His position as deputy minority leader is not only a victory for Kebbe/Tambuwal federal constituency or Sokoto state but for the entire opposition in Nigeria,” he said.

Responding, Dasuki expressed appreciation to the people of his constituency for their unwavering support, noting that their encouragement had continued to inspire his political journey.

“The support we have received from the people of Tambuwal and Kebbe local government areas, particularly for myself and our leader, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal, is highly appreciated.

“I want to assure the people of Sokoto state of our collective commitment to continue serving them, whether in government or outside government,” he said.

On the security challenges facing the country, Dasuki expressed concern over the worsening situation, particularly in Northern Nigeria, and called for more strategic measures to address the menace.

He advocated the establishment of state police as a means of enhancing security management and tackling criminal activities more effectively across the states.

The lawmaker also stressed the need for improved diplomatic and security cooperation between Nigeria and neighboring Niger Republic to strengthen efforts aimed at combating insecurity in the northern region.

Speaking on the role of the minority caucus in the National Assembly, Dasuki assured Nigerians that opposition lawmakers would continue to provide effective representation and constructive engagement on national issues.

The event featured presentation of an award of recognition and commendation to Dasuki by the people of Kebbe/Tambuwal federal constituency in honour of his appointment as deputy minority leader of the house of representatives.
