The National Examinations Council (NECO) has warned members of the public against fake online recruitment portals claiming to be registering examination supervisors for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
This is contained in a statement issued by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, NECO, Mr Azeez Sani, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Sani said the fake portals were requesting applicants to submit details of their academic qualifications and make payments.
He said NECO does not require any payment from teachers seeking to serve as examination supervisors for the forthcoming examination.
He explained that the council had moved from the analogue method of recruiting supervisors and assistant supervisors to a fully electronic process in line with recommendations aimed at improving the quality of examinations in the country.
According to him, qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above who are at least 30 years old and interested in serving as supervisors for the 2026 SSCE Internal should apply through the NECO recruitment portal https://supervisor.neco.gov.ng
He said the recruitment process on the portal was fully automated and does not require the involvement of any third party.
Sani noted that the new system would help prevent fraud in the recruitment of supervisors, curb examination malpractices and promote fairness and credibility in the exercise.
He disclosed that more than 22,000 supervisors would be recruited for the smooth conduct of the 2026 SSCE Internal examination scheduled to begin on June 15.
The NECO spokesperson urged members of the public to disregard any recruitment portal demanding payment and to use only the official platform provided by the council for their application.
