Pray For Tinubu To End Insecurity, Cleric Urges Nigerians

A cleric, Pastor Femi Akinfenwa, has urged Nigerians to continuously pray for the administration of President Bola Tinubu to tackle insecurity bedeviling the country.

Akinfenwa, the Leader-in-Charge of the Cherubs and Seraphim Movement Church, Rehoboth Chapel of Glory, Dakibiyu District, Lugbe, gave the advice on Sunday in Abuja during the Joint Celebration and Church’s Second Anniversary and Founder’s Day.

According to him, tackling insecurity will help in boosting Nigeria’s economy.

Speaking on the responsibilities of citizens, the cleric stated that Christians must actively participate in civic duties, including elections, rather than staying aloof.

”I am not against elections. As believers, our duty is to pray, but I will never stop my members from voting for their preferred candidates. Even I vote.

”Whoever God puts in position, our duty is to pray for them because Nigeria belongs to God and to us. We are one, and we do not have any other country.

“Therefore, I encourage everyone to go out and vote without any form of manipulation,” Akinfenwa said.

According to him, although leading Nigeria is a complicated task, the present administration must do more to fix the economy and combat banditry so citizens can safely return to their businesses and farms.

”My message to our President is that he should do better in terms of security and the economy.

“If there is no security, people cannot go out and struggle; they will be scared. Farmers cannot even go to their farms because of banditry. I pray that the hands of God will continue to guide him,” he added.

Speaking on the church’s journey over two years ago, Akinfenwa expressed gratitude to God for preserving the ministry from its humble beginnings, declaring that the upcoming years would be a season of spiritual expansion and community impact.

He challenged fathers to remain grounded in faith, worship God in truth, and resist distractions in their life journeys.

Delivering the anniversary sermon titled “Two Years of Grace: The Journey Continues,” the guest preacher, Senior Apostle Omotosho Iyanuoluwa, emphasised that any ministry or venture rooted in Christ is bound to succeed regardless of opposition.

Iyanuoluwa defined grace as the unmerited favour of God toward humanity.

According to him, spiritual growth and ministerial success do not depend on human effort or the presence of numerous prophets, but on genuine salvation, love, and unity.

Drawing lessons from the biblical journey of the Israelites, the preacher warned the congregation against lack of faith and internal friction, which he said could delay their blessings.

”The journey to Canaan should have taken just 11 days, but due to a lack of faith, it was extended for 40 years.

“For this church to experience a smooth journey ahead, the congregation must embody five core attributes: stepping up, love, prayer, unity, and a willingness to work.”

Also speaking, the wife of the leader-in-charge, Mrs Remilekun Akinfenwa, who thanked God for the journey so far, expressed optimism that the coming year would be greater.

”My expectation for the coming year is for greater wisdom, unity, growth to the church of God, impact to the kingdom of God and service to humanity.

”May the future bring renewed strength, success, and abundant blessings as we continue this beautiful journey together,” she said.
