Labour Party Declares Abure-Issued Nomination Forms Invalid, Warns Aspirants

The Labour Party has warned its members and aspiring candidates to disregard nomination forms allegedly issued by former National Chairman, Julius Abure, insisting that the documents have no legal or party recognition.

In a statement on Sunday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, described the forms as invalid and misleading.

He said the party had been inundated with complaints following the circulation of images on social media showing Abure allegedly distributing nomination forms in Abia State.

According to him, only forms obtained from the party’s National Secretariat in Utako, Abuja, are valid for the 2027 electoral process.

He reiterated that Nenadi Usman remains the legitimate leader of the party.

Asogwa cautioned aspirants and the general public to avoid dealing with individuals not authorised by the party, describing such actions as fraudulent.

He further criticised the alleged activities of Abure, claiming they amounted to impersonation of party leadership.

The spokesman also questioned the reported focus of the alleged form distribution in Abia State, while insisting that Governor Alex Otti would not be influenced by political pressure or manipulation.

He urged party members to remain alert and rely only on officially recognised party channels for electoral processes and documentation.
