Army Disrupts Criminal Networks, Recovers Arms Across Regions

The Nigerian Army says its ongoing nationwide operations have significantly disrupted criminal activities, dismantled hideouts and recovered stolen items across several states.

In Adamawa State, troops of the 232 Battalion raided criminal hideouts, arresting 20 suspects and recovering mobile phones and cash, while also rescuing kidnapped victims and retrieving stolen property.

Operations in the North-West and North-Central regions saw troops conduct offensives in Kebbi, Sokoto, Kogi and Plateau States, where they rescued abducted civilians, dismantled criminal enclaves and apprehended suspected collaborators.

The army said a suspected terrorist was neutralised in Kogi State after attempting to escape during interrogation, while several forest hideouts linked to armed groups were destroyed.

In Sokoto and Kebbi States, troops foiled attacks on communities, killed several assailants and rescued abducted persons during ambush and pursuit operations.

However, the report noted isolated clashes in Benue and Taraba States, where troops engaged armed groups and rescued victims, with casualties recorded on both sides.

In the South-South, troops under Operation Delta Safe foiled a major kidnapping attempt in Delta State, rescued victims and recovered ransom money and operational vehicles.

They also intercepted suspected vandals at an oil facility in Sapele as part of efforts to curb crude oil theft and pipeline sabotage.

The military assured that operations would continue nationwide to consolidate gains, restrict the movement of criminal groups and strengthen security across the country.
