NAF Sustains Momentum With Intelligence-Led Operations In North-East

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustained counter-terrorism operations in the North-East, following successful precision air strikes against insurgent targets in Borno State.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the latest operation took place on 11 April in the Jilli axis under Operation Hadin Kai.

He explained that the air strikes were part of follow-up actions targeting terrorists attempting to flee and regroup after earlier attacks had decimated their strongholds.

Ejodame emphasised that the operation was guided by credible intelligence and carried out in close coordination with ground troops to maximise effectiveness.

“The objective was to deny the terrorists freedom of movement and prevent them from launching further attacks,” he said.

He noted that the Jilli axis has long served as a strategic enclave for insurgents because of its difficult terrain, making it a priority target for military operations.

According to him, the latest strikes have further degraded terrorist capabilities and disrupted their activities in the area.

Ejodame stressed that the success of the mission reflects the growing efficiency of intelligence-driven, joint air-ground operations in the fight against insurgency.

He added that the Nigerian Air Force would continue to prioritise surveillance, precision engagement and rapid response in order to support broader military objectives.

“Our focus remains on safeguarding civilians, securing affected communities and restoring peace across the region,” he said.
