The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has recorded 3,441,121 completed registrations in the ongoing second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise nationwide.
In its Week 13 update released on Wednesday in Abuja, the commission stated that the total comprises both online pre-registrations and physical registrations completed as at 3 April.
Of the total, 2,068,384 registrations were completed online, while 1,372,737 were carried out through physical attendance at registration centres.
Jigawa State recorded the highest number of registrants at 201,047, followed by Lagos with 181,095 and Kano with 177,681.
The data highlights a strong showing by young people, with those aged between 18 and 34 accounting for over two-thirds of new registrations at 68.43 per cent.
Women also outnumbered men, representing 55.86 per cent of registrants, compared to 44.14 per cent for men.
Students made up the largest occupational group among new voters, followed by individuals engaged in business and those in agriculture, including farming and fishing.
INEC further reported that 48,330 persons with disabilities were captured in the registration data.
The commission explained that the figures are provisional and subject to verification through data clean-up, public scrutiny and biometric validation using its Automated Biometric Identification System.
It also confirmed that voter registration remains suspended in the Federal Capital Territory due to legal provisions following the Area Council elections conducted on 21 February.
INEC urged all eligible citizens yet to register to take advantage of the online platforms provided to complete their registration.
