The Forum of National Youth Leaders of all Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) has condemned recent attacks on worshippers in Kaduna State, calling for intensified efforts to address insecurity nationwide.
The forum, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Mr Eze-Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Monday in Abuja, also expressed concern over continued killings in Jos and other parts of Plateau.
Chukwu described the incidents as troubling, noting that the attack during Easter celebrations underscored the vulnerability of places of worship.
He said such acts undermine public safety and the sanctity of religious gatherings.
He also highlighted recurring violence in parts of Plateau, where communities continue to face persistent security challenges.
Chukwu called on President Bola Tinubu and relevant authorities to strengthen ongoing efforts to curb insecurity, ensure the arrest and prosecution of perpetrators, and enhance protection for vulnerable communities.
“When citizens are not safe in their homes, farms and places of worship, it raises serious concerns about national security,” he said.
He noted that young people, who make up a significant proportion of the population, were among those most affected.
Chukwu, however, acknowledged the efforts of security agencies and commended their sacrifices, while urging sustained action to improve public confidence.
The forum also called for greater cooperation between citizens and security agencies, urging Nigerians to promote peace and unity across religious and ethnic lines.
He reaffirmed the forum’s support for initiatives aimed at restoring peace, security and stability nationwide.
NAN reports that troops of the Nigerian Army foiled a terrorist attack and rescued 31 abducted worshippers following an Easter service incident in Ariko Village in Kaduna.
The Army said the operation followed a distress call reporting that terrorists had stormed a church and abducted several worshippers.
In a statement posted on its official X handle, the Army said troops, with support from local residents, swiftly mobilised and pursued the fleeing attackers.
