No Faction In PDP, Says Wike As Abuja Projects Near Completion

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has rejected suggestions of a split within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that the party remains intact despite internal disagreements.

Speaking in Abuja after inspecting key infrastructure projects, Mr Wike said only a few individuals may be dissatisfied but insisted there was no factional divide.

He added that reconciliation within the party could proceed alongside preparations for its national convention.

On infrastructure, the minister said the FCT Administration continued to prioritise monitoring and quality assurance to ensure timely project delivery.

He noted that a bridge near the Fire Service was close to completion, while the N5 road project executed by Julius Berger had already been finished and would soon be inaugurated.

At the Nigerian Law School, Mr Wike praised the completion of staff housing but criticised the pace of work on a male hostel project, despite satisfactory progress on the female hostel.

He described the intervention as a landmark effort, highlighting it as the first significant government investment in infrastructure at the institution.

Mr Wike said the administration’s performance was driven by careful financial planning, stressing that projects are only undertaken when funds are available.

He also credited President Bola Tinubu for providing the leadership support necessary to sustain development across the capital.

The minister assured residents that ongoing projects would be completed as scheduled, reaffirming his commitment to improved infrastructure and service delivery in the FCT.
