A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Apostle Chuks Alozie, has congratulated the newly elected executives of the party across the state following the successful conduct of the APC congresses.
Alozie, in a statement on Thursday, said the peaceful emergence of party leaders at the ward, local government and state levels showed that unity had returned to the Abia chapter of the ruling party.
He noted that the consensus emergence of Hon. Chijioke Chukwu as state chairman and Chief Chidi Avajah as state secretary reflected what he described as the “power of peace and unity” among party faithful.
According to him, the congress held in a calm atmosphere, describing the exercise as a carnival-like event marked by cooperation, love and solidarity among members.
He added that the absence of hostility and internal wrangling signalled a new chapter of political maturity within the party in the state.
Alozie commended the roles played by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; the Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, in stabilising the party.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of State for Labour, Nkeiru Onyejiocha; Senator Nkechi Nwogu; the APC National Welfare Officer, Chief Donatus Nwankpa; a former governorship candidate of the party, Ikechi Emenike; and Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu.
The party chieftain said the leaders demonstrated maturity and commitment in ensuring that the congress held on March 3, 2026, ended without crisis or parallel gatherings.
He urged party members and the new leadership to sustain the culture of peace and unity as the party prepares for future elections in the state.
“Our focus now should be to win elective positions in Abia State — from the presidential election to the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly,” he said.
Alozie also called on members to remain loyal to the party and work collectively towards delivering victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
