The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated newly elected executives of the All Progressives Congress, Lagos chapter, after the party’s 2026 State Congress.
The News Agency of Nigeria (APC) reports that the congress was held on Tuesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Lagos Island.
The exercise produced a new executive committee, with Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi returned as substantive state chairman for another term.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dave Agboola, Obasa praised the peaceful and transparent conduct of the congress.
He urged the new executives to work collectively to consolidate the party’s gains, deepen internal democracy and promote unity among members.
Obasa said the party must remain a model of progressive governance and political stability in Nigeria.
He congratulated delegates and stakeholders who participated, noting that their commitment to the party’s ideals was vital to sustaining its success.
The Speaker described Ojelabi’s re-election as proof of the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership across the state.
“Ojelabi has shown remarkable dedication and vision in steering the affairs of our party in Lagos.
“His return as chairman is well deserved and reflects his efforts to strengthen the APC and ensure its continued success,” he said.
