Over 2,000 Abia North Students To Benefit From Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation JAMB Sponsorship

The Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK) Foundation has unveiled a scheme to fully sponsor University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration for more than 2,000 students in Abia North Senatorial District.

Rev. Mike Onyeidu, Coordinator of the initiative, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday that the programme is designed to alleviate the financial challenges that often prevent talented students from accessing tertiary education.

“The sponsorship covers all five local government areas of the district, ensuring that financial hardship does not stop any deserving student from pursuing higher education,” Onyeidu said.

He added that the programme is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to education, human capital development, and socio-economic progress in the region.

By funding the full cost of JAMB UTME registration, the foundation aims to remove economic barriers and create opportunities for young people to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Onyeidu emphasised that the scheme aligns with the vision of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to place education at the heart of sustainable development, empowering the next generation to become skilled and competitive leaders.

Parents, guardians, and students across Abia North have been encouraged to participate in the initiative, which the foundation describes as a rare intervention with the potential to transform lives and strengthen communities.
