Jisalo, AMAC Chairman Maikalangu, Others Welcomes Former Lawmaker Micah Jiba Into Ruling APC

Nigeria’s Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Zaphaniah Jisalo, has formally received former federal lawmaker Micah Jiba into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jiba, who represented the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and served two terms as Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), recently defected from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at a reception held in Abuja on Wednesday, Jisalo, who is also the APC leader in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), described the defection as a significant milestone for the party. He said Jiba would enjoy equal status with long-standing party members and urged supporters to mobilise votes ahead of the forthcoming area council elections.

AMAC Chairman Christopher Maikalangu described Jiba as a valuable political asset, noting that his experience and support base would strengthen the APC’s electoral prospects in the FCT.

The FCT APC Chairman, Abdulmalik Usman, said the defection came at a strategic moment as the party intensified preparations for upcoming polls.

In his remarks, Jiba said internal challenges within the PDP informed his decision to leave the party, adding that he was committed to contributing to the APC’s growth and electoral success.
