Sokoto APC Welcomes Back Former Lawmaker Marafa Ahead Of 2027 Elections

Alhaji Kabiru Marafa, a former four-term member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, the party announced on Tuesday.

Marafa, who served the Wurno/Rabah Federal Constituency from 2003 until 2019, was received by APC State Chairman Alhaji Isah Sadiq-Achida, along with hundreds of supporters, including two former Wurno Local Government Area chairmen. Addressing the gathering, Sadiq-Achida said the APC is confident of winning 90 per cent of the votes for President Bola Tinubu in Sokoto State in the 2027 general election.

“The return of Alhaji Marafa is a key milestone for our party as we prepare for the 2027 elections,” Sadiq-Achida said. “Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration has delivered extraordinary progress over the last two years, transforming Sokoto State in every sector. We are committed to ensuring APC secures no less than 90 per cent of the votes for President Tinubu by 2027.”

Sadiq-Achida described Marafa as a devoted leader whose actions reflect a strong commitment to his constituents. He also assured all defectors that the APC will treat them equally and provide the same opportunities as existing members.

Speaking to the crowd, Marafa called his return a “homecoming,” saying leaving the party in 2018 was part of destiny. He encouraged his supporters to register with the APC at the ward level and pledged to work together to strengthen the party and promote credible leadership.

Marafa expressed gratitude to APC leaders for welcoming him back and reaffirmed his dedication to the party’s success in forthcoming elections across Sokoto State.
