Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has reaffirmed that the “Kano Agenda” remains the guiding principle of his administration, insisting it will always take precedence over personal or sectional interests.
The governor’s remarks followed his recent move to align with a new political platform, as disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature.
According to Yusuf, his political decisions are motivated solely by a desire to advance Kano’s development and improve the welfare of its citizens, stressing that he bears no animosity towards any individual or group.
He made the comments while addressing participants at a Motorcycle Empowerment Programme for social media influencers in Kano.
Yusuf emphasised the need for an end to disrespectful rhetoric against leaders, calling for unity, mutual understanding and a renewed commitment to economic growth.
He added that strategic collaborations aimed at strengthening the state’s economy and political stability were yielding results, pointing to improved security through cooperation with the Nigeria Police Force.
On the 2027 elections, the governor said his focus would remain on governance and development, leaving future leadership to the will of God.
He further appealed to social media influencers to reflect the true image of Islam by promoting peace, unity and humility in their online engagements.
