Security Forces Repel Early-Morning Bandit Raid In Gombe State

Security operatives in Nigeria’s Gombe State have foiled an attempted armed bandit attack on a village in Akko Local Government Area, authorities said on Tuesday.

The Gombe State Police Command confirmed that the incident occurred in Guda Lamido village, Kashere, after a distress alert was received at approximately 4:00 a.m.

Police spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi said a combined patrol team made up of police personnel, local vigilantes and hunters responded swiftly to the call. The team engaged the suspected bandits, compelling them to flee into surrounding forests.

“The attackers were successfully repelled, and the situation was brought under control without any casualties or injuries,” Abdullahi said. He added that normal activities had resumed in the area and security had been reinforced.

The police reiterated their commitment to protecting communities across the state and called on residents to maintain vigilance and cooperate with law enforcement by providing timely intelligence.
