Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday inaugurated the TY Logistics Park Free Zone Enterprise (FZE), a state-of-the-art facility aimed at strengthening trade flows and enhancing supply chain operations across West Africa.
The governor noted that the project is the realisation of TY Holdings Chairman, retired Gen. T.Y. Danjuma’s ambition to bolster Nigeria’s logistics competitiveness and support regional trade. “Today, that vision stands before us in the form of two world-class facilities with a combined 29,000 square metres of premium free zone space,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He explained that the logistics park would provide contract logistics solutions to medium and large businesses across various sectors, including fast-moving consumer goods, electronics, automotive parts, pharmaceuticals, and fashion. The park is designed to deliver full end-to-end supply chain services such as clearing and forwarding, compliance management, import and export processing, complex inventory management, and value-added services.
“Our smart digital ecosystem integrates global-standard systems and fully digitised logistics workflows, giving clients speed, accuracy and total supply chain visibility,” Sanwo-Olu said. He added that this ensures real-time stock control, error-free order processing, and transparency, which are critical for products with shelf-life sensitivities.
The governor highlighted the park’s strategic location, just 20 minutes from the Lekki Deep Seaport, which positions it to support seamless import and export distribution, duty deferment, tax optimisation, and enhanced access to West African markets. He described the facility as an extension of client businesses, enabling growth, market expansion, and operational optimisation.
Sanwo-Olu described the project as a testament to Africa’s growing capacity to build modern and globally competitive economic zones. He praised the collaboration between Alaro City and TY Logistics, noting that the development is nationally significant and expected to create lasting value for Nigeria and the wider region.
TY Logistics Park Chairman, Theophilus Danjuma Jr., said the launch marked the fulfilment of a bold vision conceived four years ago when TY Holdings invested in Alaro City to create a purpose-built, Grade A logistics hub. He emphasised that the facility was designed to give businesses operational efficiency and supply chain visibility needed to expand across Nigeria and West Africa.
The inauguration was attended by traditional rulers, senior government officials, and private sector stakeholders from Lagos, Taraba, and Gombe states, highlighting the strong support for private-sector-driven infrastructure development in the region.
