Seven Stolen Vehicles Recovered As Kano Police Arrest Suspects

The Kano State Police Command on Monday confirmed the recovery of seven stolen vehicles and the apprehension of several suspects involved in vehicle theft and armed robbery across the state. The announcement was made by SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, in Kano.

The operations were conducted by the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) under the supervision of Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Bakori. The team successfully traced and recovered the stolen vehicles while taking the suspects into custody.

Among the recovered vehicles are an ash‑coloured Toyota RAV4, a red Peugeot 406, a black Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Yaris (registration Gombe 121 AH), a truck without a body, a white Toyota Matrix, and a white Forland truck (registration GAK 701 XA).

Kiyawa stated that the suspects are linked to both vehicle theft and armed robbery cases. They are currently cooperating with investigators and will face prosecution in court.

Commissioner Bakori praised the officers for their professionalism and diligence, commending them for their successful operations. He also thanked members of the public for their continuous support and prayers.

“The Kano State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to safeguard lives and property,” Bakori said, urging residents to remain vigilant and collaborate with security agencies to maintain peace.

The police reiterated that community support is crucial in combating crime and encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.

The recent recoveries underscore the command’s proactive stance against criminal activities and its commitment to ensuring security across Kano State.
