FIRS Names Dangote Cement Nigeria’s Leading Tax-compliant Firm For 2025

Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has named Dangote Cement Plc as the country’s most tax-compliant company for 2025, recognising the firm’s robust adherence to regulatory standards and its substantial contribution to national revenue.

The award was announced at the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair and confirmed on Monday by Mojisola Ogunlade, the company’s Group Head of Tax and Compliance. She said the distinction followed an extensive industry review conducted by the FIRS.

Ogunlade said the recognition reflects Dangote Cement’s sustained emphasis on transparency, accountability and prompt remittance of statutory taxes. She added that the company’s consistent fiscal discipline demonstrated its commitment to national development.

She explained that Dangote Cement’s approach is underpinned by modern tax-governance systems designed to meet global best practices, ensuring full compliance and eliminating the risks associated with delayed or inaccurate filings.

Highlighting the company’s financial contribution, Ogunlade noted that the Dangote Group paid more than ₦402 billion in taxes in 2024, maintaining its position as Nigeria’s largest taxpayer.

She said the recognition would serve as motivation for other private-sector players to enhance their compliance frameworks and strengthen cooperation with regulatory authorities.

Ogunlade reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with the FIRS and supporting a transparent, predictable tax environment through responsible corporate conduct.
