Veteran Nigerian Journalist Dan Agbese Dies; ADC Chairman Pays Tribute

Senator David Mark, chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has paid tribute to the late Dan Agbese, a highly respected editor and veteran of Nigeria’s media industry.

In a statement released by his media adviser Paul Mumeh in Kano on Monday, Mark described Agbese as “a brother and a pathfinder of enormous value,” noting that his passing marks the end of an era defined by integrity, professionalism, and fearless journalism.

“His pen shaped public debate, set high standards for reporting, and inspired countless young journalists across Nigeria,” Mark said.

The ADC chairman added that Agbese’s death is a tremendous loss for the country, highlighting the vital role he played in championing justice, ethical reporting, and national unity. Mark extended heartfelt condolences to Agbese’s family, colleagues, and the wider media fraternity, urging them to draw comfort from his exceptional legacy.
