A witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday told an Abuja High Court that retired Col. Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser (NSA), signed payment mandates issued to two companies linked to his trial.
Dasuki is facing an amended 32-count charge over alleged misappropriation of N33.2 billion in security funds, alongside Aminu Baba-Kusa, former NNPC General Manager, and two firms: Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited. The case relates to funds released from the NSA’s account for the 2014 PDP presidential primary election.
PW1 Adariku Michael, an EFCC detective, told the court that investigations and Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) records showed the companies were connected to Baba-Kusa and his wife. Payment instructions from the NSA directed Zenith Bank to transfer N600 million, N750 million, and N200 million to these firms.
The defendants’ lawyers reserved their objections. Justice Charles Agbaza adjourned the case until Wednesday for continuation of hearing.
