Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, has called on residents of Zamfara to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a bid to rescue Nigeria and promote development in the state.
El-Rufa’i made the appeal while addressing a crowd of ADC supporters in Gusau on Sunday, stating that the party has strategic plans to tackle security challenges, improve the economy, and enhance food security.
“I urge Zamfara residents to join this rescue move to save the state and Nigeria,” he said. “I am delighted to see the progress of ADC and the promotion of unity within the party.”
He cautioned members against sabotage and disunity and commended the leadership for mobilising party members. He also urged cooperation with youth and women groups to sensitise grassroots communities and encouraged the electorate to have their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ready for the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking at the event, ADC Deputy National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Atiku, described El-Rufa’i’s visit as a positive development that would strengthen peace and stability in Zamfara. He commended stakeholders for maintaining unity and pledged that the ADC would bring security, justice, and fairness to the state.
State ADC Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, said attendees—including youths and women—came from all 14 local government areas of Zamfara. He described the party as a united and growing family, adding, “Zamfara is a home of ADC. We will ensure transparent leadership is brought to the state.”
The event was attended by grassroots politicians, Islamic scholars, women, and youth groups, highlighting broad support for the party in Zamfara.
