Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, extended their unbeaten run at the ongoing WAFU-B U-20 Girls Cup with a commanding 3-0 victory over hosts Benin Republic on Sunday at the Stade Omnisports d’Adjohoun.
Coming just 24 hours after a 3-1 triumph over defending champions Ghana, the Falconets once again displayed composure, attacking flair, and tactical discipline to claim maximum points and consolidate their position at the top of the table.
Kareem Ramotalahi opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing a slick team move, before doubling her tally in the 58th minute with a low drive from inside the box after racing down the right flank.
Despite a partisan home crowd, the Nigerian side maintained control, frustrating Benin’s attempts to respond. Precious Chiemerie sealed the win in added time (90+3 minutes) with a clinical strike following a poorly cleared corner.
The victory takes Nigeria to six points from two matches, leaving them in a strong position as the tournament progresses. The Falconets will next face Ghana on Monday, 11 November, before concluding the group stage against Benin Republic on 12 November.
The 2025 WAFU-B U-20 Girls’ Cup, running from 7–12 November, features Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin Republic in a round-robin format, offering a vital platform for identifying emerging talents and preparing squads for upcoming CAF and FIFA youth competitions.
