Radda Submits ₦897.8bn ‘Building Your Future III’ Budget To Katsina Assembly

Governor Dikko Radda has presented a ₦897.8 billion budget proposal for 2026 to the Katsina State House of Assembly, describing it as a roadmap for sustainable development and improved public welfare.

Presenting the appropriation bill, titled “Building Your Future III,” Radda said the proposal comprises ₦167.7 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦730.1 billion for capital projects — representing 18.68% and 81.32%, respectively.

He noted that the budget marks an increase of ₦205.6 billion from the previous year, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand infrastructure, education, healthcare and security initiatives.

According to him, the government adopted a “disciplined and pragmatic” approach to both revenue generation and expenditure management, ensuring a balanced and sustainable fiscal outlook.

“We conducted a comprehensive review of all funding sources to maintain fiscal balance and eliminate potential deficits,” Radda said.

He added that all ministries, departments and agencies were required to justify their spending plans in line with the administration’s strategic priorities.

Speaker Nasir Yahaya-Daura assured that the House would prioritise the passage of the budget and continue to support initiatives that promote the wellbeing of the people.

He praised the governor’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, noting that “many communities that once lived in fear have now regained confidence and hope.”
