Tinubu Holds Strategic Security Meeting With New Military Chiefs

President Bola Tinubu on Monday met with the newly appointed heads of Nigeria’s armed forces in Abuja, in what is seen as a strategic step to improve the country’s security framework.

The meeting, held behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, came shortly after the appointment of the Service Chiefs — a move the Presidency said was designed to boost effectiveness and restore confidence within the military.

Present at the session were Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waheedi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.

While no official briefing was given after the talks, sources indicated that the discussions focused on strengthening coordination and operational capabilities across the Armed Forces.
