Edo State Commissioner for Youth, Mr. Charity Amayanvbo, has said the eight-year leadership mandate of Governor Monday Okpebholo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is “non-negotiable,” citing their achievements and growing public support.
Amayanvbo made the statement on Tuesday in Benin during a courtesy visit by Comrade Kelly Okungbowa (popularly known as Ebo Stone), founder of the Youth for Youth Movement.
He said Governor Okpebholo had earned the trust of the people through developmental projects, restoration of traditional values, and renewed confidence in governance.
“Okpebholo has restored the confidence of the people in governance. He has brought back dignity to our traditional institutions and rekindled the hope of Edo youths. His eight years in office is non-negotiable,” the commissioner said.
He praised the governor for restoring the authority of the Benin Traditional Council and showing “unprecedented respect” to the Oba of Benin.
According to him, Okpebholo’s administration has fostered unity across the state, with visible progress particularly in Edo South Senatorial District.
“The governor has done what his predecessor, a Benin man, could not do. From the Ramat Park Flyover to the second flyover at Adesuwa Road, and massive road rehabilitation projects across the state, Gov. Okpebholo is setting a new standard in governance,” Amayanvbo added.
He also commended the governor’s transparency, especially his directive to the Edo State House of Assembly to investigate the Emowa project, describing it as a clear demonstration of accountability.
The commissioner called on Edo youths to rally behind the governor’s developmental vision.
“Edo youths must continue to stand with Governor Okpebholo. He is the beacon of hope for our generation, and his vision deserves our unwavering support,” he said.
In his remarks, Comrade Okungbowa praised the commissioner’s inclusive leadership, describing him as “a father to all.”
He pledged that the Youth for Youth Movement would mobilise Edo youths to secure 2.5 million votes in support of Governor Okpebholo and President Tinubu.
“We will stand firmly by the governor to ensure the success of his non-negotiable mandate. Edo youths are united and ready to defend his vision for the state,” Okungbowa said.
