No fewer than 3,000 young Nigerians are set to embark on a transformative cultural tourism training program in China, aimed at enhancing their skills and empowering them to contribute to Nigeria’s creative cultural tourism economy. The Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe, made this announcement following his participation in the International Culture Tourism Reform for Developing Nations forum organized by the Chinese government and Academic International for International Business Officials (AIBO) in Beijing, China.
During the forum, Runsewe highlighted that the training opportunities in China extend beyond cultural tourism, encompassing technological breakthroughs and innovations. He expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration with China, emphasizing that around 3,000 young Nigerians will have the chance to undergo diverse training programs, including areas such as chip manufacturing and electric car production.
Runsewe revealed that each state in Nigeria will have the opportunity to send approximately 100 young individuals for training, which will not only contribute to reducing crime and unemployment but also foster rural development and job creation.
The Director General expressed his excitement about the potential of this training program, recognizing the commitment of the Chinese government to their promises. He assured that the National Council for Arts and Culture will strategize to ensure the successful realization of these milestones.
Furthermore, during the forum, Runsewe delivered a compelling speech on the significance of cultural tourism in the world, emphasizing its role in fostering peace and security. He urged government officials from developing nations to prioritize cultural tourism, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean and well-maintained public washrooms, as they play a pivotal role in attracting tourists.
