The Office of Deputy Minister of Interior for Counter-Narcotics on Wednesday announced that at least 450 individuals who were drug users have made a full recovery and rejoined their families.
In a statement, the office said the drug users returned home after receiving treatment at a rehabilitation center in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan.
The statement added that the recovered addicts had a three-month medical treatment and rehabilitation and received professional and vocational training in areas such as car repair, electrical appliance maintenance, and plumbing.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that 40 people struggling with drug addiction have been shifted to drug rehabilitation centers in northern Balkh and southern Helmand provinces for treatment.
